 Gregory
Cooke, Director
Gregory Cooke was born in Wimbledon England, and raised in Richmond
Upon Thames. Ten years before Gregory was born, in 1956 his father, Alan,
directed Roddy McDowall on Broadway in a production of "Diary of A
Scoundrel" at the Phoenix Theater. Gregory has worked extensively
in London and Los Angeles as an actor over the last ten years; theatergoers
will recall his performances in "Nothing Sacred" at the Mark
Taper Forum, "Habaeus Corpus" and "The Seagull" at
the Matrix Theater and in last year's award-winning (L.A. Drama Critics
Circle, Best Production of the Year) "Breaking the Code" with
Dennis Christopher, at the Blank Theater Company. Gregory received much
critical acclaim for his production of "A Horse of a Different Color"
which he directed at the Theater of N.O.T.E. here in Los Angeles. He has
also directed a series of Harold Pinter sketches and "Duet for One"
by Tom Kempinski at the California Institute of the Arts. Recently, Gregory
finished filming in Mexico on James Cameron's "Titanic" and after
breaking his leg in a freak ice skating accident in London over the Christmas
holidays he played a recovering addict in the MTV and Paramount pilot "Hitz,"
directed by Rob Schiller.
